Baby Sadie has arrived!

She's here! Sadie Rebecca Sorensen was born on August 5 at 1:00pm. She weighed 9 lbs and 2 oz and was 22 1/2 inches long. I went to the dr the week before and when they saw how big she was they decided that c-section would be best. My blood pressure was also getting high so it was decided that the c-section would be done at 37 weeks. I was very happy to get her out, but I was scared about the c-section because I had never had surgery before. Everything turned out fine, although Sadie had to stay in the NICU for a week for a few things. Because of my diabetes, she had really low blood sugar when she was born and they had to hook her up to an IV giving her glucose for about 5 days. She was also having trouble opening her lungs so she had to wear a CPAP to pump air in her lungs. She looked like she was going to go scuba diving! Nate called it her super hero mask:) Her sugars were finally getting regulated and it looked like we were going to get to take her home, but then she got jaundice so she had to stay a few more days with a billi blanket. (We called that her "space suit") It was really hard having to come home without her for a few nights, but I guess it was good that I got to get some sleep because she is quite a night owl! We brought her home last night and I don't think she slept one minute, but I was just glad to get to hold her without all the cords and tubes coming out of her. We are just so glad to have her in our family and I am so thankful that she is out of the hospital! Here are some pictures of our week at Banner Desert...

Here we are just before going to the hospital.

I may be smiling, but I was really scared!

Here she is getting weighed. Just look at those cheeks!

Here's Nate doing his "I'm a dad" dance:)

Sadie and her scuba gear!

The first time I got to hold her. It was definitely love at first sight.

Proud Papa!

The nurses at the NICU made her this cute sign. They also made her a cute scrap book page with her foot prints on it.

Our sweet girl!

Sadie and Grandma Bucky (as she has been affectionately named by her grandchildren)

Sadie and Grandma Bettie

She finally opened her eyes!

She had to wear these shades over her eyes to protect them from the lights on the billi blanket, so her nurse drew these cute eyelashes on them for her!

Yay we finally get to leave! Here she is in her new outfit and her new car seat!

When we got home last night uncle Justin and aunt Aubry came to visit.

Grandma B came to stay with us for a few days! Today she gave Sadie her first bath.

Taking a nap with dad

Aunt Jessica came to see us today! Sadie was so glad to see her, she fell asleep!

Sorry about all the pictures! I just can't stop taking them:)

YAY!!! She is so stinkin' cute! I love her cheeks... Rebecca still doesn't have cheeks like that! I love her name too! OK... I love everything about her! Welcome to the C-Section Club! I have to say, I was more nervous for the 2nd one than the 1st... I was a little out of it for the 1st. It was nice being able to plan for the 2nd though... no labor pains! Good luck with your new little one! Congrats!

Amy, she is SO cute! I'm glad that you finally got to come home. Ashlee kept me updated there for a bit. I love all the pictures! Just be sure to take as many of the next one as you do of her, even if it's another girl! (We know right? Being the second daughter, "if we could just have a picture by ourselves!"):)
